“Harbor” is a composition inspired by the beauty and tranquility of Newport Harbor. An abstracted aerial view of the harbor gradually transitions into a view from the beach looking to the defined silhouette of Catalina Island on the horizon. Vertical beams of circular elements represent the ever changing color spectrum of the sun’s reflections on the sky, land, and ocean. 12 pairs of horizontal stripes depict the year-round sunshine alternating with the characteristic marine layer on the coast of Southern California.
